The Search For Humanism continues

What happens when you combine musicians and dancers on a stage performing live trying to work through the many ills in society that affect the lives of Black people daily in America? The result yields the Marcus Miller Ensemble and Lula Washington Dance Theatre performing together. This is an excerpt from a performance at Indiana’s Butler University in 2014. A Monk Moment

Poet Kamau Daaoud sits in with the Marcus Miller Ensemble to pay tribute to jazz legend Thelonius S. Monk. This 2010 concert was held at the William Grant Still art center featured Mehesh Balasooriya (piano), Miles Mosley (bass), and Marcus Miller (drums). This was a part of the "High Priest of Bop" exhibition.
